From SEO to social and automated marketing systems, it seems that everyone these days are on a customer service and experience kick. The latest to get on the bandwagon – Facebook. “Our goal is to build the perfect personalized newspaper for every person in the world,”

–Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg

To many, this seems like an amazing solution to provide the Facebook audience with what they really want. But, let’s be real, for marketers this is just another tweak that makes marketing adjust their efforts in order to accommodate. But, that’s why we’re here. To offer our expert advice and guidance on what you need to do to get the most out of your marketing efforts. Here’s the rundown:

Intriguing Content

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – content is key! What you put out there needs to be interesting and grab the attention of your audience. And, with this new system, it’s more important than ever to not only get their attention but also to make them stay. The reason being, Facebook now measures that time frame and makes it work in your favor so that they will post more of your brand. Engaging content focused on what readers really want. Make a descriptive headline. Create numerous pain points. Work off of the reader’s needs and DON’T be misleading.

Bonus Tip: Only post the best of the best. There’s no slacking allowed when it comes to trying to win the content game.

Example: The BuzzFeed article vs. the BBC article below. You will see more of the Buzzfeed article due to its enticing description, headline, and colorful imagery as compared to the dark, non-descriptive post by BBC.

Look, you never know unless you try right? So give new content avenues a chance. Video marketing has been skyrocketing over the years and 45% of people watch more than an hour of Facebook or YouTube videos a week. The best video for you to use? Live stream. Live videos done by businesses are actually rewarded by being featured higher in the feed. Meaning, people are more likely to see your content, and more likely to see it before one of your competitors.

Bonus Tip: Keep videos short, sweet, and simple to keep your viewers engaged until the last second. Under 60 seconds is best!

Target the Right People

Aside from all this amazing stuff that can help your content be noticed faster, Facebook has also enhanced their audience targeting systems. For this, any and every post you make can be targeted to a certain group. Have an article on onboarding? Make sure those HRCOs see it! And yes, this feature is free. That means, even your organic reach pays off by you selecting the right audience for your content. And, it should result in more views and engagement (ya know, since the right people are actually seeing it). More engagement means more love from Facebook.

Bonus Tip: Analyze who your major audience is on Facebook. This is who you need to be targeting to get the most engagement and a boost on the news feed.

So, here’s the gist of it all: Facebook has made it better and easier than ever to interact and engage with your followers. The only thing you have to do? Ensure that your content and marketing methods are actually things that your audience will like! Seems pretty easy, right? But, if it’s not, we can help you out.
