If you’ve ever worked in a marketing agency, you can probably relate to a few, if not all, of these songs. #AgencyLife is a whole other world which takes the right kind of person to conquer. It’s a culture made up of sweatpants, ping pong, and open offices.
As a light-hearted post, here are 13 Disney Songs to capture a few aspects of the marketing space.
Poor Unfortunate Souls -The Little Mermaid
“To help unfortunate merfolk like yourself
Poor souls with no one else to turn to”
When new co-workers get put on a difficult account or with a difficult client, all you can think is “poor unfortunate soul”. We’ve all been there and it’s just their time to experience it.
A Whole New World – Aladdin
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky”
Walking into the office on your first day can be a bit of a rollercoaster ride. From learning “agency speak” to the different processes set up in the office, it can often feel like a whole new world.#AgencyLife is its own little bubble. I’ve got ’em too”
Making your first work friend is a great feeling. They not only help you accomplish your tasks at work, but understand your complaints at happy hour.
Be Our Guest – Beauty and the Beast
“Be our guest! Be our guest!
Put our service to the test”
When onboarding a new client, you have to show them the value your agency can offer them quickly. Treat them as a guest and provide what you need to.
The Bare Necessities – Jungle Book
“The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!”
Every once in a while, a client will pull an over-the-top request out of thin air and you have to deliver. With the bare necessities and help from your co-workers, you can pull it off and get the satisfaction of a job well done.
Dig a Little Deeper – The Princess and the Frog
“You gotta dig a little deeper
Find out who you are
You gotta dig a little deeper
It really ain’t that far”
When times get rough and chaotic, it’s your job to dig a little deeper and pull off the brief. You were hired for a reason and your managers have the faith you can do it.
Go the Distance – Hercules
“I will find my way
I can go the distance
I’ll be there someday
If I can be strong”
Working for a marketing agency, you regularly get asked to go the distance on a certain task. With grit and courage, you can accomplish anything.
You’re Welcome – Moana
“So what can I say except you’re welcome”
While working in a marketing agency, you often get clients who are extremely grateful and impressed with what you do. Sometimes, all you can say is you’re welcome.
Just Around the Riverbend – Pocahontas

Waiting just around the river bend”
When lulls happen in the office, everyone tasks a sigh of relief, but generally project managers are thinking about what’s around the Riverbend. Let It Go – Frozen
“Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go”
It’s important to remember to not take things personally. Clients expect the world, and you can only deliver what you have the means for and what they have the budget for. My advice? Let it go and move on to the next thing.
Hakuna Matata – The Lion King
Ain’t no passing craze
It means no worries”
“No worries” is a commonly used phrase in agency emails. With so much going on and so little time, you need to say Hakuna Matata and not over-worry about the things you can’t control.
Honor to Us All – Mulan
“You’ll bring honor to us all”
Agency employees get quite close as they work together, and you cheer each other on when they accomplish something tremendous for a client. They essentially bring honor to us all by being the very best, and we couldn’t be prouder.
I See The Light – Tangled
“And at last I see the light
And it’s like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it’s like the sky is new”
By the time Wednesday hits, agency workers feel like they’ve done the work of three weeks in three days. Once Thursday hits, you’ll hear yourself say, “at last, I see the light” as the weekend creeps near.
