Apps That Make A Marketer’s Life So Much Easier

By Eric Foutch:

At Red Branch, we are always looking for ways to accelerate our performance, better our processes, and ensure we are remaining ahead of the marketing trends. It’s not an easy thing to do, and we are continually adjusting and editing our internal processes to ensure this happens.

After all, we have a lot of clients in a lot of different industries so retaining all of that knowledge while also looking at how we can improve is something we constantly have to work at. To do that, we have employed a lot of different technologies and applications that help us manage not only our work life but outside too! Take a look at some of our favorite applications that help us remain one of the best marketing team’s out there.

Monday.com

Our brand-spankin’ new project management system has a fantastic app that allows you to keep up with projects like you were on the desktop or browser version. Although the interface is not as simple to use as the browser version, you can pretty much do everything within the app that you can through the main versions.

App Store Rating – 4.3 out of 5

“This app is AMAZING. I use it for every aspect of my business, it is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my professional life! I only wish I had this sooner. All the things I felt was impossible to juggle and keep track of, is now not only possible but easy and fun. This app is addicting, I LOVE IT! And all my employees love it too!! It’s like a social media community just for my business & centered around productivity.” Loveroftagsforlikes, 08/23/2018

#Marketers, are you using these essential #apps in your day-to-day? If not, you should be! @RedBranch Share on X

Facebook Pages Manager

The Facebook Pages Manager app is a great tool to use when you are on the go. You are a bit limited with some of the features that are offered on the full site, but this app is a must-have if you manage multiple client accounts. We use this app to respond to messages, post updates, engage with comments, etc.

The app is also slow and can be cumbersome to navigate. There is a lot of functionality that is in the web version using a computer that isn’t available in the app. To some degree, this is understandable however some basic capabilities would be nice to have in the app.” Qazwxssedcvbnh, 11/09/2017

Facebook Ads Manager

If you manage a lot of ads for a lot of different clients, you need this app! Again, the app is not as functional as the full browser version, but you have the basic functionality. We use this app to launch Facebook and Instagram ads, make adjustments, review performance, and much more! It has pretty low ratings in the App Store and unfortunately, we would have to agree with most of the comments.

App Store Rating – 2.4 out of 5

“This is a great app for anyone who’s comfortable with basic decent graphic design, knows how to create an audience, and read metrics to improve the performance of their advertising. I’ve worked as both a part-time social media manager for a nonprofit organization on a university campus, with upwards of 1.8k likes on the page being added to my tenure with the effective use of the ads and the Ads Manager.” DanielB1997, 09/07/2018

Gmail App

Honestly, if you have an iPhone, you already know that Apple Mail is the worst. The Gmail app is beyond amazing as far as functionality goes. It’s so similar to the browser version that I haven’t found an issue yet. Usually, wit,h mail apps I become frustrated, close out the app, and log into the browser version. The app is fast and allows me to respond quickly and efficiently. If you’re on the go and don’t have this app downloaded and are still relying on Apple Mail, switch now! I can’t say how it works with email addresses outside of Google, but so far, I love it.

App Store Rating – 4.4 out of 5

“In the corporate world, I am forced to use Outlook as my primary email client. In the private sector, I used Gmail for almost everything else. Gmail has become a standard that other email sites attempt to emulate. The integration of its own suite of office programs has eliminated the need for more costly applications…” Evil on the Wwweb, 5/15/2018

Hangouts

Although we have a great email system and project management system, often times we need a quick response to a pending item. We have been avid users of hangouts for this reason and more. Often times, we have employees working from home and so connecting through a quick chat allows us to ensure we are on the same page and headed in the right direction. The mobile app makes this even easier, especially when I am out of the office at a conference.

App Store Rating – 4.3 out of 5

“It’s all like the regular texting app, but you can also call using the same app, which is pretty convenient. The regular app does not include calling, and you need two apps if you want to call. You can also switch from voicemail to FaceTime, instead of having to call again if you want to FaceTime. Group chat lets you talk as a group in a voicemail or FaceTime, and all of the people can decide if they want either voice only or camera. If you don’t have the new update for group chat on your device, that’s ok! You don’t need to update to a group chat on Hangouts. Overall, this app totally deserves five stars.” – ICanRateOk, 03/23/2019

Google Drive App

Along with Gmail and the hangouts app, we use Google Drive for all of our storage needs. Having this app installed on our phones allows us to access, view, and review on the go. Being able to access this information is super helpful on a mobile device if someone needs access to something while out of the office. Although you need the sheets, presentation, or doc app to actually edit documents, you will have access to anything in drive with this app.

Pro Tip: Use this app when you are traveling to hold itineraries and important information needed on the go.

App Store Rating – 4.8 out of 5

“I have been using Google Drive for a while now sometimes I don’t even realize the pictures or files that I need are right there at the tips of my fingertips just by logging into Google Drive from anywhere and it has been a lifesaver more than once in terms of looking for something I needed and I find it! Also many moments and memories via pictures; I thought I had lost forever, but realize are stored right there safe and sound in my google drive!” – snugz030914, 01/16/2018

Which #apps make the @RedBranch team more successful in and outside of work? Find out one take here: Share on X

Evernote

Talk about the best note-taking software out there! Evernote is definitely an app that helps everyone here stay organized and take notes quickly. The search features in this app are second-to-none. One of our Partners here, Jeremy Hogan, has all of his family’s important information loaded into the system so he can simply do a quick search to find all the documents he needs access to.

App Store Rating – 4.3 out of 5

“This is still the best app for my needs, but it has plenty of annoying quirks. I’ve used Evernote for many years, with over 100 notes covering everything from the grocery list to future work plans to my son’s college search. I find it helpful having access to all of these notes from my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, and being able to share certain notes with specific family members or colleagues. None of its competitors offers the same combination of selective note sharing, table creation and editing, and text formatting.” – DonPablo21, 11/21/2018

LastPass

Do you hate using the same password over and over again because you know someone is going to hack one account and then they are going to have access to all of your personal accounts? Join the club! Now, with LastPass, you won’t have to worry. This app makes creating and remembering new passwords a breeze. I never have to remember a password anymore, and that’s just because of LastPass. They also have a handy extension for Chrome to autofill your information. Seriously. Get. This. App!

App Store Rating – 4.3 out of 5

“Between my work and my personal websites I have over 250 sites, Log in’s, and passwords to try and remember. Which is virtually impossible for me! So I had been using an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of them all and I just had the spreadsheet password-protected. But we all know Excel passwords are so easy to break but that was the best way for me to keep track of my websites and all the supporting information to access them.” – Fhferiufswduhsgsh, 12/17/2017
